Sure sure, we could rock a classic quilted bag, we could pick up one of the new adorably puffy CoCo Cocoons, but that’s all so common. True Chanel devotees will be bidding on this double C logo sofa. We do love the idea of having Chanel be a part of our lives every day. What do you think? Oh so chic? Or beyond over the top? The piece, originally designed for a Chanel event and later used in ad campaigns is for sale through 1stdibs.com. Bidding starts at $8,500. Anyone want to chip in?

We never rock fakes at Gomatta Girls. Why would we when we get the real goods at such amazing discounts? But we are always amused by some of the absurd knock offs we see. Luckily, we trained Sal and the boys well, and they don’t even look at the constant stream of silly designer wannnabes that is always parading by them at the docks. London, fashion blog Hapsical just posted some shots from a market in Tunsia that are down right hilarious. How much would you pay for a Hugu Boos top? A Girgio Armwni suit? Um… PASS. We are a little tempted by that Gucci basketball though…

It’s seems you must collaborate or die these days. And we kind of love it. If you are a mainstream brand that wants a little street cred it is an easy way to get people’s attention. We are currently smitten with Parisian jewelry designer Ligia Dias mini collection for Club Monaco. Ligia believes that “Every woman should have a version of a pearl necklace in her wardrobe.” We agree and we know Nonna would be thrilled to see us sporting some. Dias’s designs are thoroughly modern takes on the style. Check out the styles here. Our fave is the long rope with chains.

We are completely in love with the Stella McCartney for Gap Kids collection. We’ll start with the amazing boy’s bandleader jacket (only available in select stores) that we don’t really see any little boy have an interest in. Probably a good thing, as the big sizes are already being snatched up by savvy petite fashionistas everywhere. There are several other items we wouldn’t mind stealing for ourselves – the pink hi-tops sneakers and duck boots (see above) are both very practical winter footwear options, but there are also the girls bloomer shorts and the boys cotton/cashmere cardigan that would slip seamlessly into our grown up wardrobe. Alright, now that we’ve outfitted ourselves we can move on to selecting gifts for the little ones in the family. For the little ladies we like the kanga sweater dress. For the boys we’ve chosen the fair isle sweater and for all the little ones, the ridiculously cute snowsuit. Take a peek at some of the adorable shots from the campaign below. The animal friendly pics were shot by Ryan McGinley, who also shot Stella’s big kid campaign this year. And for any of you LA Gomattas, be sure to swing by Gap's pop up shop on Robertson which is now stocking all the Stella styles. (108 N. Robertson Blvd, (310) 285-1880)

It seems the Olsens are going back to their roots, their pre-teen friendly, low cost roots that is, with a new collaboration with J.C. Penny. We like that they’re going cheap, but we wish they’d kept up the style level. So far everything looks cute and wearable, but if anyone should know that young ones can be trendsetters it is these two. The red mini looks rather tempting… but nothing here seems new and exciting. Not quite sure about the name either. Olsenboye? What does that mean exactly. What do you think? Cute? Too Cute? Boring?

And this time we’re not talking about the Real Housewives. We’re referring to the absolutely amazing sounding Gucci movie now in the works at Fox 2000. The movie revolves around the glamorous and yet murdered filled (now that’s something Gomattas can relate to!) days of the Gucci family in the ‘70s and ‘80s. Family squabbles were stalling the dynasty’s business plans when finally Maurizio Gucci, grandson of founder Guccio Gucci (best name ever?) came out on top and had plans to hire then newcomer Tom Ford to design a line for the brand. Sadly, before he could set out on his reinvention plan, Maurizio was shot in front of his Milan apartment. His ex-wife Patrizia Reggiano was sentenced to 29 years in jail for plotting the murder. Wow! We feel better about our own family hearing this story and we cannot wait for all of this high fashion drama to be played out on the big screen. Angelina Jolie has been tapped to play the scheming ex-wife. What do you think? Does she have what it takes to represent the Gomatta flare? And who should play Maurizio?

Here at Gomatta Girls we feel slightly obligated to disguise our complete obsession with Paris. We are Italian after all and we don’t mean to forsake the mother land but, come on, it’s PARIS. Sooooo we have to mention how delighted we are with YSL’s new fragrance Parisienne and the Experience Parisienne project they set up to promote it and encourage women to find their ‘inner Parisienne.’ YSL has tapped 5 fabulously cool and stylish bloggers to document their own Parisienne experiences and inspire us to ‘adopt the values of being Parisienne’ in our own boring American lives. Sign us up! We’ll begin by starting our days with a café au lait and upping our in take of red wine. Sound like a fab plan no? We will do anything that will help us look like Kate in the beautiful campaign. We’ll also be picking up the fragrance – with notes of Vinyl Accord, Cranberry, Blackberry, Otto Rose, Peony, Violet, Patchouli, Vanilla, Musk, it sounds far too delicious to resist. Check it all out

Oh my god, we love it! Apparently Santo Versace (yes, Donatella’s brother) has nominated Mr. Armani for the Italian senate. He already rules Italian fashion, why not the government? We are a little giddy over this here at Gomatta headquarters. If approved, Armani will join a select group of ‘senators for life’ who are appointed by Italy’s president in recognition of their lifetime achievements. This is not just a title; they are entrusted with the same legislative powers as elected senators, and Mr. Versace’s recommendation is not without weight, he’s a member of the lower house of parliament. Versace feels that “No one can do a better job than Giorgio Armani in showing the beauty of Italy – the Italy that we desire.” Whose going to argue with that?
Hey there, East Coasters we have some fantastic news for you today. On of our favorite LA designers Jenni Kayne has opened a pop up shop in Soho! We are actually a little upset that we won’t have her impossibly cool designs all to ourselves here in LA, but as always we are just too nice to our Gomatta friends and we had to share the good news. The Soho shop will be open through November 30th and will be selling the fall/winter collection which means you lucky New Yorkers will be able to get your hands on the perfect band waist leather skirt we’ve been lusting after. We pretty much want to just move the entire collection into our closet. The perfect fall wardrobe. Easy shirt dress, sharp leather pants, perfect turtleneck sweater, playful fur vest, crisp white shirt, and a stunning black tie worthy gown. Check out of faves from the fall collection below.

Miu Miu is another Gomatta fave. Prada’s playful younger sister always brings something fresh and fun to fashion week and this season was no exception. We loved the fun playful prints. We’d take the birds over the cats though. Super embellished dresses add some sophistication to the childlike patterns. As always, there were some killer accessories we will be lusting after. We love the idea of printed shoes! Are favorite handbags are below too. We always love a stylish clutch. Miu Miu’s soft tan one looks like and instant classic and the pink and black envelope looks a little retro and so sleek.

elow30 OMG!! I am dying!! Cucci shoes....Priceless!
These fakes are being brought to this country and funded by terrorist sects, gangs and just really bad people. They have 5 year old children, men and women in third world countries working for ten cents an hour!!!
Stay away from even the greatest fake on the planet. You may think we don't know, but we do! The linings, the suppleness and the actual build are all a tell tale sign that you may be carrying a FAKE! Just don't do it! I was in NYC a few days ago and walked past a street vendor in the middle of the fasion dis who promised me that he can provide me with the BEST knock off version of Birkins. He kept trying to lure me over to his trunk (whether to push me in and chop me up later, dunno) to show me his wares. I didn't budge! I saw a documentary on HBO that showed forgeries lessons a-z and I was just taken back! Who would have known that something as harmless as a bag, wallet, shoes, etc would start off in such a dark world! I chose not to be part of that!
Watch that documentary if you ever see it! It will BLOW your mine! You may wanna slap the guy who is pushing the fakes, SERIOUSLY!
xoxo
ps At a local flea market by where I live, the FBI came in one day and swept the whole place (HUGE) for fakes and shut down so many boths that I thought my fav flea market was now a ghost town! They were confiscating purchases as well! They did give the customer a voucher to receive their money back, but I wouldn't want the FBI knowing I bought an illegal item! It was absolute pandemonium! At the end and on the front page of my daily Sunday paper was a caption "millions of dollars of counterfeit items and illegal DVD's were confiscated as part of an FBI's ongoing investigation into trafficking forgeries". BOY O BOY!
elow30 Hey my Goma's
This just in....A MAJOR sample sale site that I cannot name was named by a customer for an item being purchased/sent that was not authentic. It was a handbag!
The thing is....This site gets so much press that it is sickening! It is all over priced couture like stuff! Not the items I find practical, like my Gomatta Gear, as I go to the mailbox or to PTA meetings in (floor length Donna Karan, Mishka Gowns, Lutz & Patmos, Louie and the names go on.)
Just want all of you to know that BEWARE! Even the big named sites have flaws and are maybe putting a product that would fail most QC standards that is high priority in on-line retail sites!
One last thing...Not one item that I have received from my Gomatta Girls has been fake. Have always been of great quality. If I do return an item, it is due to the fit, not the quality or the absolutely adorable/chic design of the clothing but because so many designers will size an item a medium (8-10) in which in the real world is a 4-6!
The population has grown in size but they still size things to make you feel bad about the extra pounds you put on during the holidays! Not dissin my Gomatta Girls!
I know that everyone on this site is helpful (yes, the die hard Gomatta Gals)and post how the item is sized and I thank you for doing so, as I will do for YOU! I sound like a preacher, mom would be proud, LOL!
xoxo
