Gomatta Girls features 24-hours-only sales of women’s fashion and accessories, and works with hundreds of brands including Linea Pelle, Dolce Vita, Jenny Han, Saint Grace and Whitley Kros.
Job Description
Gomatta Girls is seeking an experienced Buyer, an Associate Buyer and an Assistant Buyer with the technical and practical knowledge of the women’s apparel buying process. The ideal candidates will have experience from a fashion retailer, be proven self-starters with a fashion-forward eye for trends, and a “can do” attitude. The Buyer must possess broad knowledge of boutique designers.
The Buyers will develop the product selection for Gomatta Girls, and develop business strategies to drive sales through the product assortment and pricing.
Responsibilities:
- Arrange daily sales
- Establish and maintain vendor relationships
- Attend trade shows
- Continually research new potential vendors
- Negotiating buying terms with vendors (price, quantity, delivery terms)
- Manage the Purchase Order (PO) process
- Assist the creative and product entry teams with regards to product attributes and timing of sales
- Keeping abreast of industry trends and new product ideas by reading fashion magazines and visiting stores
Requirements
- 2+ years women’s fashion buying experience for Associate Buyer, 5+ years for Buyer.
- Strong understanding of merchandising financials, retail math and the ability to manage profitability
- Successful experience in buying in multi brand, multi vendor environment
- Entrepreneurial, self-starter, ambitious in nature
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Willing to be flexible and a will to work in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to analyze reports and draw conclusions/recommendations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
